Twining Silk: Link-weaving the Energetic Body

Daily input of 'hands language' teaching in the silence of Holy Isle.

August 11th to 18th 2012

TaijiQuan is a precise and delicate art.  It develops the soft energetic body.  The technique of Chansijin, Twining Silk, creates resilient strength and abundance of energy.  Chan is the action of twining, something turning around itself.  Si means silk.  Jin means refined power.  Chansijin is the spiralling power that emerges from chansi.

Kinthissa was apprenticed to Gerda Geddes, UK pioneer of Yang Style TaijiQuan.  In 1995, after 19 years of study and teaching, she met Chen XiaoWang, the leading exponent of Chen Style, under whom she has trained intensively up to the present time.  Guided by his 'hands language' teaching, she has come to focus increasingly on the structural reality of fundamental Taiji principles.

The week on Holy Isle will be devoted to careful fine-tuning of each person's posture and connectivity.

Costs:  Course fee is £310.  The course is limited to 10 participants.  There is also space for a few non-taiji companions, who are most welcome; there is much to see and do in tranquillity on the island.  Accommodation, with 3 deliciously wholesome vegetarian meals, is £329 in a single room, £252 in twin room, or £196 in dorm, payable to Holy Isle on arrival.  The course starts on the evening of August 11th and ends after lunch on August 18th 2012.
